Joke, the little girl pictured spent a good two or three minutes gently caressing the statue's nipple before she moved to touching the lips instead. She was quite mesmerised, but just as I lifted my camera she reached up to the statue's mouth instead.

Wow! That owl is fantastic and so is that sunlovin' lady.
I'm with Surfing Free on those!
Owls are my 'thing'.
me too - and intrigued by tall twirly knobby triffidy thing, how did they get it to stay upright in soft sand?
Oh they are fabulous..are they staying there???
Oh Thankyou really THANKYOU! I want the giant plug and sunbathing lady for my garden!
Wonderful, different things.
I love that the sunnin' lady has a tummy. And that owl? Fab.
So many great images. Thanks for sharing.
What an experience, to see all that artwork up close! I like that squiggly spermy thing, and that light fixture.
Very cool.
Wonderful! I love sculpture, especially when it is meant to engage the viewer, not be seen from afar. So much fun!
what WONDERFUL things!
and, it would appear, the perfect setting...
Wow! The owl is great! I love the drain and plug ! The last one is great too! Actually I was taken with all of them!
The tall, twirly, knobby, triffid-like thing rather reminded me of, um, those Miracle of Life type of videos we had to watch in biology class.
I particularly enjoyed the bronzed lady, even though it seems it was a bit, er, nippy for her at the beach.

Fantastic stuff !
Oh, I love sculptures! Especially that lady sculpture and that strange brown thing that turns up into the sky - with that ball/globe on top!
Cool pictures, I wish I could see it in real life :)
How lucky were you to get to see that! And I love that lady, she is just amazing.
Great photos, those sculptures are amazing and especially gorgeous against such an amazing backdrop. Oh how I miss that big blue sky.
What a great exibit. I'm sure there was security around there to make sure nothing was damaged.
I love art in the wild.
I love these pictures -- especially the owl. However, I want to BE the woman lounging on the beach.

I love Melbourne in the springtime...
I love Melbourne in the faaaalll...
Yay! Telfair's back!
(Doing the happy dance ...)
Suse,
They do that also with the statue of Juliet in Verona. In fact, it's done so damned often the affected part has a high gloss.
