I ventured forth the other day to buy the sock wool and needles and was quietly told that the "winter stock" hadn't arrived yet! Isn't knitting a year round thing? (Anyway, I think I will find it on some of the web sites you shared with me).
I then went to a "proper" wool shop to purchase some needles and appropriate wool for a friend's birthday present (she likes a good project). I ended up with some dishcloth/facewasher cotton and couldn't resist some for myself too. So the socks are going to have to wait till I master the facecloth!
And we love it, even if the boy isn't yet able to appreciate it. I watch it on the window ledge as I jiggle a crying baby and feel very lucky. Thanks :-)
These gnomes are so adorable! Lovely to have met you the other week....so crazy we sat next to each other and didn't realise we were 'neighbours'! It was very overwhelming meeting so many new people in such a short space of time. Your gift is sooooo lovely. I can't believe you made 15 of them!!!! Gorgeous!

My goodness, you are quick with the needles, aren't you?
I love the idea of these jiggling along as a pram string: can't you just picture it?

These are precious. Knocking around your archives now as Molly'd promised there would be neat finds like these.
