Scrabble meme - R

Janet did the Scrabble meme some time ago, and I put my hand up for a scrabble letter.

I scored R.

However I am seriously devoid of words right now (spent all day writing serious, bureaucratic and diplomatic ready-for-freedom-of-information-application-type formal words, do not have words of any kind left in head) so my response is pictorial.

Some are more obscure than others because, well, I like to challenge you.

Fair Bianca (David Austin)

when all else fails
(when all else fails, read the instructions)

airborne at montsalvat

russian literature & babushka

to the rescue
(rescue: this little bird flew into a window, landing at Son #1's feet in a pathetic twisted and shuddering mess. He picked it up and sat quietly with it for a few minutes. Gradually it closed its horribly gasping beak [do birds pant?], pulled its wings in, stood up on #1's palm and rested a few seconds longer, long enough to pose meaningfully for the camera but not quite long enough for me to focus, before taking off).

Fair Bianca
and again, Fair Bianca, my favourite David Austin rose.

If anyone else wants a scrabble letter, let me know and I’ll allocate you one in the comments section.

Lovely pictures. The ones of small people running have such energy and the rose is just beautiful.

Can I have a letter, please?

What a great dog! It's a greyhound? We have one from the Greyhound Adoption Program. Love his lolling roll. No letter thanks.

Wonderful, wonderful post!!!!

Yes please for a letter. But I could never come up to your novel approach to the solution.

this is a wonderful series of photographs...i particularly love the light streaming in on the table...and am trying to come up with the "R" it illustrates...i'm sure it will come to me, right after i hit "publish your comment"...

Isabelle: Thank you. I too love the pic of Son #3 running - if you look closely you'll see he's actually airborne. You may have G.

Susan: yes! Sailor is a 4 year old rescue from the Greyhound Adoption Program (see my sidebar, and 100 things about me). He's a gem. And he is alive, despite the suggestion of the photo.

Float: thank you. I bequeath you S.

Pavlov's Cat: welcome and thank you! I am an admirer of your blog. Would you care for an E? There are plenty of them in a scrabble set.

Meggie: thank you also. You may have C.

Zephyr: yes, that one was stretching it. It's "rays". And reminds me that I left one out! Might go back and add it.

Can I have a letter please Soup Lady?

Of course I just had to try and list the "r's" your pictures represent, being somewhat rententive and all... So I'm thinking; rose, rainbow, rotating (relief), rustic charm (oh it's rays), river (ooh, to live close to a swimmable section of a river), ribbed, reading, running, row (of books) and back to the rose.

Love all the pictures but most especially the one of the boys running.

That was rude of me...

What ever letter you deem suitable, Suse.

Hello Suse

yes, birds DO pant, and it is not a good sign. Good for this little guy he could catch himself. Have a good day, Céline the vet from Switzerland

Muppinstuff allocated me an "A", and I pondered it on holiday, but have still done nought with it.

It think a pictoral response is more me, so thanks for the inspiration to re-think and repose.

I'd love a scrabble letter. I've been lacking anything really interesting to post in awhile. Just don't give me L please, I already posted about Llamas.

I love that bird picture. What a great moment for all. Communing with nature.

I have been given a letter by Dr. Cat, but I wanted to ask if you'd made those glorious gloves? If so, do you perchance sell your wares? I would pay handsomely for gloves that lovely...

Elizabeth said...

Well, late to the party.
I'll have a letter, please. Down to the dregs, I suspect.

Suse said...

cello bella: D
elizabeth: F
audrey: I certainly do sell my wares, as other recipients can tell you. Are you asking after the red wristwarmers?, because I have an identical pair on the needles right now, and can finish them in a day or two if you wish. Drop me an email at suseinthesoup[at]gmail[dot]com and we can discuss further.
