I'd be tempted....can't get botulism from condensed milk can you??We once found a whole chicken (tinned! WTF!) with a use by date of 1980 when we were cleaning my father in law's house in 1989.

This reminds me of my husband, who insisted that we take the same can of fruit cocktail across the pond to Australia (because he said he'd eat it) and then BACK home to the States two years later (because he still maintained HE WOULD EAT IT. When I've never known him to eat canned fruit in his life.) I think it's still in our pantry somewhere.

Hi!My mother in law (only 56, second wife...) cleared out her larder a few years ago and found tins older than her (then) twenty-year-old daughter. On her husband's 70th birthday she served a pudding decorated with vermicelli which was eleven years past its sell-by date. Sorry, babe, you're just a beginner!!!
I feel so much better!Imagine, if you will, GOM's rage when he found some best before with 96 & 95 on them. Tins they were. I laughed in his face, as I flounced off in a huff.

Ho; I just today replaced my 20-year-old tin of Old Bay Seasoning (the tin is a collector's item!) with a new jar.

It would never last that long in my kitchen. I love condensed milk and usually make myself sick drinking it straight from the can whenever I cook with it. My cheesecakes always end up about one inch shorter than they should be because I have eaten all the raw ingredients...Probably why my backside looks like a bus.
Quick get it out if the house!! Don't be tempted to try it!
