red knits for a sunny Sunday

irish hiking scarf for Fathers' Day

It’s years since I knitted a scarf. They do go on, don’t they?

knitted strawberry bookmark

I invented a small project to break up the monotony of the scarf.

I’ve made four of these little bookmarks so far.

It's a sunny Sunday here and I must go and bake a cake (apple and pecan), go gold panning down at the river with a bunch of 8 year olds and their families and then race to an orchestra concert (with the cake as my donation for afternoon tea).

Enjoy your Sunday.

That spermy tail now makes complete sense when attached to a strawberry and turned into a bookmark. I have two scarves on the go and they are just plain garter stitch and I must admit to being a little.....bored.

oh yes have a lovely sunday, the strawberry does look like a strawberry with a really long stem.. not really spermy at all.

Love that scarf! I used to love knitting cables.
And nice berry there!
Busy Sunday. Ours is wet cold & gloomy, -nice to cosy up, & just be!

Love the composition of these photos Suse; the elegant coils of the bookmark over the poetry are wonderful.

I do believe you're Officially Local. Gold panning is a revered tradition.

I sure could use some of that pie right now.

Oh crikey. It's like a Dali picture. If you just look at the red part it's a strawberry...

Then you pull back and it's, well, a bit suggestive again.

Or is that just cos I'm starting to feel better now?

I love that scarf!
And the strawberry bookmark is very sweet. Very nice gift for a teacher, hmmmmmmm?
It's birthday party season here; 1 or 2 every weekend. This was is NOT a drop off, as it's at a pool (although the mom insisted most were dropping off children - we won't) so I'm sending all the boys. 1 will play with the party, the other will stay with Daddy and have some rare 1/1 time.
Oh, I haven't even had my tea yet and it's 10:45! The morning has slipped by.

Do get pictures of the gold panning.
I love the strawberry. You'd think after the Acorn Incident you'd have sworn off tails of any kind.
Scarves are an endurance test.

I love that bookmark! It is so light hearted, I would have to either read Dostoyevsky or Shel Silverstein.
