sitting :: here on my lunchbreaks, knitting in hand

reading :: Mr Golightly’s Holiday
thinking :: about a possible minor thesis topic concerning Hestia
recommending :: that you read Fifi, the scent of water, and garden variety, if you don’t already
developing :: another obsession

thankful :: to h&b for my new blog banner
heading :: off to bed with a cup of tea and a chocolate bar that the mister left on my bedside table for me to find tonight. (He’s gone away for the weekend, leaving me to take one child to cricket, one to a birthday party, one to violin lesson and later to an evening party. Oh, and pick them all up from these events. From the four corners of Melbourne. Oy).
Goodnight.

What a lovely spot to sit and knit.
oh I loved Mr GoLightly's Holiday! I hope you enjoy it.
:)
Oh Hilary my darling child, oh Hilary you drive me wild.
natural dyes - very good fun.
just so you know...aluminum and iron pans change the colour of the dyes as they mordant the fabric, so, if you've mordanted the fabric, make sure you use a stainless steel pan xx
Love the new banner. And love having a chocolate bar on my bedside table--that's a good man.
You get to sit there and knit? Lucky.
Love the new banner!
Love the new banner.
I love the thought of sitting and knitting. Jeepers, what's happening to me?
Actually, I think I like the IDEA of the thought of sitting and knitting. It think the actual sitting and knitting may turn out to be frustrating as I constantly unravel my work... :-)
Men who leave chocolate bars, how good is that! LOVE the new banner.
lovely list, and love the pink background...
Love the new banner. It really is redecorating time for blogs right now
chocolate... and knitting under a big shady tree... and reading those lovely books about dyeing. My idea of having a good time.
Thant is of course when I'm not out doing sonmething else!
BTW I posted pics of The Wedding, perhaps I will post some more tomorrow. We had such a great time, I'm exhausted!
L'adore that knitting/lunching spot !
Thinking :: i might pinch this for a meme, if i may.
Great looking banner.
One day I'll have to come up with something more interesting for mine. Still coming to grips with all things bloggy at the moment, though.
It's nice having things left on the bedside table. My son leaves me water and peppermint tea.
I have that natural plant dyes book.
I have tried using gum leaves, gave a nice ginger colour. My pot was aluminium though. I haven't used mordants, so toxic.
A lady I spoke to at a craft fair who dyed wool with plants told me she never bothers with the mordants.
Mr G's Holiday is a gentle and peaceable book. It is indeed just right for reading under a tree.
i can't see your new blog banner (must be blocked by my j-o-b) but the black & white of the bench is BEAUTIFUL!!! :)
OH that banner - with the red scarf - is much better. Although the subhead could be a tad smaller. Just for effect. I'm just saying...
But really... it should be of your various knitted fruit. Because then, then subhead has a touch of irony which is very subtle and therefore seems very clever indeed.
Hi there,
Many, many years ago my mother told a story about Hestia bras - apparently the company took its name from Hestia the godess - but also it made up the acronym of 'Holds Every Size T*T In Australia'.. My mother swore it was a true story told to her by a friend who worked for Hestia in those days... I still have a little giggle to myself when ever I hear Hestia mentioned
Hey, where are the small people? The ones with no features, that sat upon your banner?
and he only left you a chocolate bar?????love the new banner!
You're doing your minor thesis on BRAS??
