... and enough yarn left over to make a teeny baby scarf, or wee neckwarmer. Complete with funky wooden toggle. I had a mental block about how to make a button loop; thank heavens for crafty bloggers and their tutorials. Honestly, how did we survive before the interwebs?

See the 'lawn' in front of him? That's the result of Stage 3(a) water restrictions.
Sigh ...

Oh I see we have the same gardener....actually we use stage 4 to get our lawns into just that right shade of dustbowl.
Love the toggle!
lovely dye job and what a fun project with kiddo...and so cooperative for such a hot day...wishing you cooler weather soon.
Love it!
And who needs lawn anyway? Xxx
At least you can cross lawn mowing off your jobs list. You've got a fantastic view.
Hat and little scarf look great. I can't wait to try some dyeing.
I am in LOVE with that hat. Beautiful.
You're lawn is slightly less healthy than mine, but it is a close run thing!
Great view!
I loved the dye tute, the resulting hat & scarf are sensational...so vibrant! The view beyond the lawn is rather nice :)
I love the wee scarf/neckwarmer !
The toggle totally makes it.
Our grass is still green without water, but it's kikuyu, and that's a weed.
I want me one of those hats!
Wonderful..
He's a lovely model with those freckles and eyes...
Cute young man - and I bet he feels well pleased with the dyeing job he did!
Well knitted by Mum too. Great tute - can't wait to try it - oh wait, but I SUCK at knitting!
Lawn...sigh. Brick-paving looks good too!
Oh, lovely! And self-striping, too! Good on ya, mate! (Did I say that right?)
It looks great! I agree about finding online tutorials and whatnot...I have found so many things I want to try and make but I haven't the time...and silly me keeps looking for more!!!!!
What a great project! You are one fun mum.
your yard looks like ours, except ours has progressed to the wet season and mud stage.
What a great hat, and very brave he was to model it under the summer sun.
My lawn? Still under a foot of snow.
That is one great hat and neckwarmer on One Great Boy!
Love that toggle, too! Perfect, downright manly.
That boy has the most beautiful eyes.
Great hat and scarfy thing too.
fabulous!
I wanna do it too.
My "lawn" is covered with 3 feet of snow right now, but when the snow melts I'll be able to see the weeds again.
At least they are green.
Weeds seem to be able to grow no matter what the conditions!
The colours! Gorgeous. As are the eyes of the child! What fun, to wear the end product.
ah, hello,
soooo sorry to miss you! I'm home now.
Such a beautueous hat and scarf, and what a gorgeous model. Not to mention very good natured to be WEARING all that in January
Hat and scarf look great, not in the least due to the very handsome model.
Lawn? Oh yeah I remember...
Who notices the lawn with a model like that? Great Yarn, great hat, Great neckwarmer, great model.
I love the hat shape and the dye tutorial is great.
It looks a little warm for hats and scarves over there....but they look great!
Lawn is overrated - you're best off with dust.
AWESOME yarn!!! I love how it turned out and LOVE the neck warmer!
Molly
The hat is lovely! Your son must love the idea that he's wearing something he helped create!
Lovely hat, lovely boy, lovely view. But the lawn: that one, we do better. Well, greener anyway. Our lawn is currently waterlogged; it's been pouring all day. And dark. And cold. And windy. Things are blowing about outside. Yuck.
I love how he's modeling a hat and scarf with no shirt on. Looks like he tore them off as soon as you were done taking photos! SO cute!
Oh I love the hat, so bright and cheerful. We have the same lawn in our backyard too, although the front lawn is beautiful and green from the washing machine water.
i love the hat and scarf! and thank you for the dye tutorial. i will be visiting your blog regularly now that i have found you. :)
LOVE those colors. Thanks for the tutorial I think one of my kids will love to do this dying thing at a more rational age. That hat and neck attire is just wonderful, very happy and well now he must be hanging out for some colder weather.
Wonderful rainbow-ness.
Sad rain-less. Our lawn looks lush in comparison to yours. Which isn't saying much.
