While I was
It was this. (You'll get it better if you know and love Twitter).
She sent an email back the next day saying Capital! Excellent! Now get on with your essay! and enclosed a link to this. Which everyone can enjoy, twits or not. It helps to be an Abba fan though.
Since I handed in the essay I've been on a bit of a Jane Binge. I watched the whole of Persuasion on YouTube in ten minute increments (oh Rupert!), and as soon as I hit publish in a min, I'm going to watch Emma on dvd to see if Kate Beckinsale is less annoying than Gwyneth.
At the very least it'll get Dancing Queen out of my head.
Edited to add: Oooh, look at this one! I'm having so much fun ...

I do think Kate Beckinsale is less annoying than Gwyneth Paltrow. Alas, she is not less annoying than Kate Beckinsale.
farnarkling!
haven't heard that one for some time - but i love it.
just as i love ms austen.
Your links were excellent Suse.
I really needed a laugh,
thanks
urg, Gwyneth. Even Ewen MacGregor couldn't save that one. I must rewatch Sense & Sensibility soon though, I liked that one.
I think the only thing wrong with that first one is that the Tweets are in chronological order, instead of backwards. I'm always scrolling down to try and figure out the preceding conversation!
Kate Beckinsale is better than Gwyneth, but is Mark Strong better than Jeremy Northam? There is a new Emma in the making at the moment (with Jonny Lee Miller and Romola Garai)...
ooh, nothing like wet men! and there was a wet laundry shot too, bonus!
and I do rather like your cotoneaster shot.
These all cracked me up! What a wonderful distraction for a dreary Wednesday. Thanks!!
One more link for you to enjoy - this is P&P done Facebook-style:

I don't know how to embed links but it's worth a look, really!
For some reason it is the last link that stays with me;)
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
You must read it. It's done very well.
Kate definitely much less annoying than Gwyneth. I watched the Kate one recently and quite enjoyed it.
i like your photograph of the cottonaster, we had that in my childhood garden. I enjoyed the twitter P&P (even though I don't tweet), and in that last one I was just waiting for Colin Firth to emerge from the pond - but it didn't happen!
Oh what fun indeed!!! My winter project is to watch the ABC's P&P, which I've NEVER seen!!
I just want to send my love and affection. You are so crafty and witty! Wishing you the best of weekends.
P.S. Thanks for that Oren Lavie thing, I loved it. Will definitely post it on my blog too...
Most excellent I thought and an excellent use of farnarkling time. Long gone are the days of cleaning the skirting boards when one can now tweet and read blogs about tweets and even read tweets that aren't really tweets but should be.
enoyed those links!
Great link to the YouTube 'Dancing Queen', thanks for that. I think I'm probably the only female in the Western world who can't stand Jane Austen - weird, I know, but I really can't help it, she drives me nuts. However, I do like ABBA so nonetheless really enjoyed the link.
