It's a simple A-line skirt from my trusty pattern that's easy to make and I know fits me. The fabric is curtain fabric from Spotlight. If anyone out there has curtains like my skirt, I do not want to know, thank you.
I wore it to work the next day, and I'm wearing it again today.
Earlier in the week I cleaned out the lounge room fireplace (because summer has made a sudden appearance) and filled it with pine cones for the warmer weather. I collected those pine cones by the side of the road one very very hot day in January, with Janet, and she took a photograph.

Oh I agree about the wonderful posture! I was always taught to hold my head high, with shoulders badk & spine straight. "Don't Slouch!", as if it was the crime of the Century... but of course, I am old now, & that Century has gone...

I love that picture of you. As well as the skirt looking lovely, you give the impression of being a fat person with tiny feet (and I know you're actually a wand-slim person, but allow me my feeling, just this once, of being slimmer than you.)
Your youngest has left home temporarily? My last child has only a week more at home EVER! And I'm not going to like it AT ALL.

I love that skirt. I would love a skirt like that. I'll bet if you posted a picture of that in your shop, someone or someones would probably email you measurements and pay good coin for a skirt like that...just sayin'.

Funny, just last weekend I was standing in the middle of curtain department loudly wondering if it is possible to make a skirt from curtain fabric, because I saw some fabric that I would never use for curtains, but it would make a lovely skirt.
Now I have my answer :-)

I was in Spotlight this afternoon so I know that the persistence started much earlier than when you cut out the fabric in the evening.
Of course, it was probably a mistake to take all the children with me but we did get out of there eventually with everything we needed cut into the correct lengths.
I'm not even going to talk about the fireplace beautifully filled with pine cones for the warmer months. Because it's so gorgeous, I can't bear it! It's the kind of project that's on my list but that I never quite get to.
