No soap-on-a-rope? Apparently not solely reserved for Fathers Day. I have gifted evidence.

you know what, that just sounds perfect to me, not about fancy cards and expensive presents but really about your children giving their love to you all day. Yesterday was my first mothers day without my mum. I spent it with my 3 sisters, dad and my lovely 2 daughters and husband. It was so lovely and soft and a little bit sad. Lots of really heart felt cards, drawings and kisses from sweet chubby children. Perfect for me too.

I'm a long-standing recipient of home made cards which I cherish. We also had a three generation family picnic yesterday and as an additional bonus also received a basket of treats - including fresh walnuts, guavas of two different varieties scented and very desirable, Spanish tortillas, Pont-Leveque and a strange looking "black garlic" which I understand is the current foodie "in thing".

Precious day, precious memories.
