The other night I took a deep breath and pulled out a whole month's worth of lace knitting. It was a silk shawl that I had had high hopes for, but the yarn and pattern were just not made for each other.

So I sniffled a bit, and then made a cosy instead, for a friend who likes her coffee HOT.
Ravelled here if you need the low down on how to make a coffee cosy of your very own. Just don't speak to me about shawls.

I did the same thing, except I frogged four times before I got the hint. Le sigh.
However, the cosy is very lovely.
I spent forever - months - knitting a cardi in 4ply, all the while making minor adjustments because i was scared I didn't have enough (discontinued) yarn. I made an adjustment too far and it is NOT comfy. Four fifths is doomed to le frogging. Last night I found that extra ball of yarn.
Feel better?
Oh...no!!! You and tania need a DRINK!!
Will Lynn's coffee be hot? (Saw the pin....) I might feel a few Xmas pressies coming on.
oh it's lovely, it must have been fate. x
That's gorgeous :D I feel your pain ... I am just about to frog four inches of shawl (although I will be reknitting - guess which numpty picked up needles a size too small!).
It shall henceforth be known as the shoulder warmer which must not be named
Sorry about the shawl -- that's always so disappointing. The tea cozy is certainly pretty though. Perhaps this is a case of making lemonade from lemons?
I said it before, but I'll say it again: SO beautiful. Keeping a close eye on my mail basket! (Ever so sorry about the shawl, though...) xoxo
What a cool... er, I mean HOT... idea!
Do you know if there will be a SOCKtober knitalong this year? And if so, how do I find out about it? I found one on your blog a couple of years ago and joined it, would love to have another go!
I've got this cardie the pattern of which has been modified to the wool im using, but i have noticed it may be a bit small now that i am up to the front! im carrying on, it will fit someone!
She's a lucky girl.
I love it! The shawl's loss is the coffee pot's gain- lucky friend I say!
