Our school fete, this Saturday. It's huge.
The VCE music students are performing their solos in the Eurythmy Room at 1 o'clock. In amongst those performances there should be
I've been rostered on for rubbish duty at, wait for it, 1 o'clock. Sigh. Have to find someone to swap my shift with.

Thanks, you made me choke on my popcorn. Twice.
We know all about distinct lack of practice around here...
Rubbish Duty?? RUBBISH DUTY?!?! I don't think I'd take that stall. Rubbish duty should be done via the traditional Aussie method of forcing all the kids to do an Emu Parade the next morning after assembly.
I'm just entranced by the Aussieness of your school's address -Wonga Road.
I't up there with P.Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney.
Rubbish duty - you get all the glam jobs, don't you?
It's a glamorous life. Last year I got rubbish and the husband got parking.
We are so not in with the It Crowd.
Oh boy, been there- rubbish duty, toilet paper stocking duty, car parking, children's activities, the stalls, the sizzles, I could go on. But the hardest work BY A MILE is the dining room. Oh, the dining room. It is a FULL ON DOOM FEST OF SWEATY SUFFERING SLAVERY for parents. Ahem.
But having safely ushered the youngest son into year 11 this year, I have no duties, no rosters, nothing besides the bring-a-cake obligation. No duties. For the first year in 17 years.
Wow.
See you on Saturday. x
It took me a while to work out why we only had one duty this year, then I twigged ... Year 11 parents get off!
I have done the dining room (can,t remember which year). It was exhausting.
PS Cake! Crikey I forgot I have to make a cake!
I'm lost . If every parent brings a cake ..... does that mean that every parent is then obliged to eat a whole cake while there ?
Visions of (temporarily) rotund Steiner parents all squeezing into the Eurythmy room with difficulty .... but great anticipation .
Smitonius/Sonata, unlike my youngest's school fete which is small so the same group of parents provides the goods and then sells them back to the same group of parents ;) this school fair is huge. People come from far and wide and so there needs to be a humungous amount of food! It's a great day out.
I'm amazed that a poster for a Waldorf fair looks the same in Australia as it does in Fair Oaks, CA. Have fun! I always enjoyed attending LB's old school fairs when we lived in the Bay Area,
